Hi, I'm new to the forum and have been using Nizoral for about 4 months, it helped my scalp itching and mild burning, not sure if hair shedding has slowed down.
I've just started taking Saw Palmetto daily, but haven't seen much written about it in the forums. I've seen website opinions elsewhere by people who swear by it, even those who had little success taking finasteride. I'd just like to know if people think I'm wasting my time with this. I'd hate to lose more precious hair while using treatments that have no effect.
Secondly, I'm very interested in starting finasteride, but am concerned about the side effects. I was planning to take Saw Palmetto for about a month, then start taking 0.5mg of finasteride for the following month, then start the entire 1mg. I want to follow this method so my body can adapt to a small amount at a time. I'd be interested in opinions of this and whether the treatment would have beneficial results while taking the reduced amount.
