Just putting it out there for the people in this forum, that's all.

I think that a lot of the less serious sides are just in peoples' heads, but I never denied that there's have been people with PSEs after taking propecia.

This is just one of the many lawsuits now.

There is one being spearheaded by a very important person that got PFS.

There are actually a lot a lawfirms involved in this now. However, I’ve yet to hear the outcome of any of these. Since there is still no clear-cut evidence that shows PFS is actually happening, so I think Merck will fight back vigorously without giving in to settling out of court. However, when (if) we see any actual conclusive scientific studies, I think Merck will be in big trouble, and the lawsuits will really start coming.

It's going to be difficult right now for anyone to win. The problem is that it's difficult to show these people are actually suffering from problems, since they aren't exactly tangible and can't be quantified as easily. When you take a med and for example you have a heart attack (Vioxx) it's easier to show damages. But when you say you're depressed, have no libido, difficulty achieving an erection, anxiety, etc. it's much more difficult to convince the judge you are suffering.

I'm not saying these things aren’t happening to some, but the nature of these problems will make it difficult for plaintiffs.

BTW, how are you doing back on finasteride, Monty?

Sorry to hear it man. I'm not suggesting you try it for a third time after your experiences, but I’ve heard of people that have had side effects start on finasteride with a 'weaning' method. Taking advantage of the relatively short half-life, this method anecdotally helps your body adjust more easily and could potentially result in fewer incidences of side effects.

Basically you start taking it once a week for 2 weeks (monday), then twice a week for 2 weeks (monday/thursday), then 3 times for 2 weeks (monday / wednesday / saturday) and so on until you are taking it 7 times a week. So all in all, it will take 14 weeks for you to be on the full dose.

If you ever decide to give it another shot, this method might help out a bit. Again, this is completely anecdotal, but I heard about it on another forum and there were several people saying it helped out immensely. If you decide to quit, this method also may be safer than cutting it cold turkey, or trying to halve your doses into microscopic portions.

Good luck with your battle though man!

What about if you buy Merck stuff of the internet, not generics?

No lawyer will use someone who uses anything but true 1mg propecia that is prescribed by a Dr and purchased from a pharmacy. It's far too easily argued against. One of many problems of self prescribing medicine without being under a Dr's supervision and FDA guidelines.

Where do you get your proscar cassin?

I don't use Merk proscar.

I use generic but I get mine from a Dr and I also use a pharmacy. Even with that said I wouldn't be eligible for this either as I am using it off label.

I wouldn't expect to get anything cos I self medicated anyway. Especially as I stopped and started before finally crashing, not under any medical supervision.

I'm sure a lot of people self medicate finasteride due to the cost, as well as maybe a little embarassment.

Oh of course. I can't fault anyone for that but it does of course come with many risks.

except that u was taking more than the regular dose (1 pill a day)
if is proved that propecia cause damages in some people, maybe u would have right to something.
