I was on beta-blockers at 6 years old.. So my hair was a little thin from that to beginwith. But by the end of 8th grade, I really started noticing my hair being thin around the crown area..
At that point, I started using special over-the-counter shampoos and things to help thicken my hair and possible save it from continuing to fall out. I'm not sure if any of that actually helped...
As soon as I turned 18, I received a prescription of Rogaine ($85.00 for a month's supply at the time). I started using it and it saved my hair from getting any worse.
I've been off and on with Minoxidil for years. I notice that at some points during a year, my hair will feel much thinner than other times. When I notice this, I immediately start using topical Spironolactone and Minoxidil. This always takes care of the problem.
Most of the time, I'm simply on and off Minoxidil (5% with Azeleic Acid). I'm sure the actual Minoxidil is saving what I have but whatever is in this stuff makes my hair VERY thick once it's dry. I basically use the Minoxidil as a styling agent.
If I walked up to you and asked, "Do you think I'm going bald"? You'd probably hit me.. My hair WAS very thin at one time, however.. I'm here to learn whatever there is to know that I may not know already...
