When I do use minoxidil, i usually put it on my crown and towards the back of my head. (I hope to get a dig cam for xmas so i can show you the "damage" -- i.e. how moving my hair around a bit exposes huge diffuse thinning in the middle of my head.)

My front hairline isnt so bad at this time but there is recession at the temples, particularly my right temple.

Question: Have any of you guys used rogaine strictly on the front hairline only and seen regrowth on previously "dead" areas? (if so i may apply it there too)

I used 4 bottles of minoxidil 5% liquid per month on my head for 2 months and got a lot of long peach fuzz 1/2 inch below my hair grafts. No, it was not dying hair. I was smooth bald for years before I got my hair grafts, and the new fuzz was 1/2 inch below the grafts, which never die.

I stopped using it because that was a lot of minoxidil to have on my head 3x per day. I had not side effects, but just hated having greasy minoxidil in my hair all the time. It cost $30 per month too. Not sure how much I would have regrown, but I quit after 2 months and the new hair disappeared.

The fuzz was almost 3/4 of an inch long, but light in color.
