I am primarily targeting people that have had experience of both these drugs with this post. Which in your opinion had the more severe side effects out of RU58841 and Finasteride in your experience? And what were the nature if the side effects experienced on each drug?

No one knows to what extent RU can cause sides. There is only anecdotal evidence. People seem to believe it does not have sides as bad as finasteride. But it's a shot in the dark. It could have no sides, it could not work, it could have permanent bad sides, no one knows

RU58841 @ 50-75mg, no sides pretty much.
I used way higher dosages of RU too though and that's when I did get sides. These sides were hot flashes and worse memory.
Finasteride@1mg EOD, A (bit) lower libido + penis felt a bit less sensitive.
Doing a bit trial & error now. Will try a lower dosage of finasteride next time. I really like the convenience factor of a pill vs a topical. It's much better imo. I respond very well to both treatments btw.

Both Finasteride and RU58841 are good treatments. Like zzzzz stated, no one knows to what extent RU58841 can cause sides effects. For Finasteride, it could cause sexual side effects.
I'm on both Dutasteride and RU58841 and haven't had any side effects, or at least I haven't felt any. Just thought I'd let you know that.
