I think the theory is some people use drugs to cover steroid use and when they get busted claim they are using finasteride for hair loss since finasteride acts like some of the masking drugs in the body. This isn't the first or last time this has happened.

No if anything quite the opposite. There are plenty of other masking agents that you could use that would probably be more benificial to sports performance.

Right, but using finasteride as an excuse for "hair loss" is a good way to explain it if you get caught.

Well if steroids are synthetic hormones benificial to promoting the growth of muscle and other such male traits eg aggression etc. Many people believe that taking finasteride and therefore inhibiting (to a certain extent) dehydratestosterone production is detremental to such things. I'm pretty sure there have been various threads on here about the concerns of taking finasteride for people who are serious about their workouts. DHT is actually available as a bodybuilding supplement.

Steroids are used for much much more than to get big. Steroids have moved far beyond that.

They help with healing.

also improves muscle endorance.

Yes! Which is why I always shake my head when I read EPL forums and blogs and steroids are always dismissed as an "American Problem"
