Rogaine hair - is it like the real stuff?

Anyone out there have rogaine inspired hair that is indistinguishable from their old stuff? If not, what properties does your minoxidil hair display? Is it thinner, paler, less dense, slower growing or does it only grow to a certain length? Also does the area where the hair is growing seem to affect its attributes? For example si the hair on your temples less successful than the new stuff on your crown or vertex? Finally, how long have you been on rogaine?

I'm just curious...please help!

I think minoxidil hair can get there if given enought time. As I understand it it gradually
gets better and thicker the longer you are on it. I'm on the big-3 plus but thought you might
want to see the difference. I call my regime KSR.

Here is my crown that was totally bald almost four months ago:

Here is my hairline that was also bald (and had been for at least 10 years):

You can see the difference in size on the closeup. I hope and have been told that the small hairs
will get thicker the longer I use minoxidil.

Thanks, thats what I hope, that they will eventually fall into line. My hair is quite long now so the difference is fairly pronounced, but I shall avoid shaving off the new hair again! and let the minoxidil work. I measured and wrote down the length of the minoxidil hair at 4 points on my head, and will re-measure in a month to see if the growth has continued, and at what rate. BTW, what is the average growth speed of hair? ( in cm/month not mph lol)

Btw very nice hair and camera that can do closeups like that! :punk:

I'm not sure what the growth speed is but for me on finasteride my growth speed is back to what it was
when I was a teenager. Before finasteride it was SLOW.

My camera is pretty nice but it took a while to find the best way to take pictures. Outside
on a bright day with no flash in a shaded area is best. Direct sun and flash both hide the
small hairs.

Thanks, I'll try that with my camera once we have a nice day. Has been grey here for a week :(

Just measured my new hair and it's roughly 4cm, found out the average speed of hair growth is 1.25cm per month and shaved it on 20.12.07 (in Dalat, Vietnam). Therefore my rogaine hair is growing at approx 1.33cm per month. Meaning that it is growing at average rate.

So the next test is, will it continue to grow?

For this I'll measure it again in a month and compare.

Anyone else try a similar experiment?
