Rogaine for receding hairline?

Hey- I have a mildly receding hairline. I've been using finpecia for ~ 8 months, and even though it says it does not work for receding hairline, I've noticed my hairline has stopped receding, and I've seen some new growth. Because of this, I'm going to try using rogaine for my receding hairline.

-Anyone ever had any success with this?
-Why can't you use rogaine on a receding hairline?
-Anything else I should know?

When I was 19 and my hairline first started receding, I had excellent results from rogaine. Now it isn't as helpful but I think it's worth a shot.
