Have been using rogaine foam for a month. I have tried using the liquid before, but the ppg irritates my skin bad. Rogaine foam has no ppg so I get no irritation. But one thing I don't like is that the foam dries really hard like as if I just sprayed a whole can of hairspray on my head.
Some people might like this, but diffused thinners like me with already weak hair, go to brush my hair and pull out a whole heap of hair with the brush.
Also, after 2 applications, there is a thich waxy layer of rogaine on my scalp that I can literally peel off. At first I thought this was dead skin, but it is the rogaine. Any more applications onto this layer i'm afraid will not penetrate the skin, so I am having to wash my hair once a day.
Also from the past I know that having a layer of something ( eg. toppik, hair gel, plaster dust from work) on my scalp for too long, doesn't allow it to breathe and release sebum as usual, so I start to develop acne on the scalp and then comes the imflamation. My scalp likes the foam ingredients, except for the waxy layer that forms, which will definately start to cause build up and then immflamation.
