Rogaine foam on wet/long hair

Hi forums,

I seem to remember back when Rogaine foam was new, it was suggested to use it on hair that was slightly damp as opposed to totally dry for best results. I was wondering if that is turning out to be true in most peoples' experience? Also, is slightly long hair any problem for it?..Or does long hair end up absorbing too much of the product?

Thanks,
Brad

hi! since very beginning of my treatment, I have only used Rogaine foam on wet hair. have tried a couple times on dry hair and it didn't go well. too hard to apply as there is no moisture/water in hair. I have always had short hair so no comment on long hair thingy but I have heard/read that with long hair, liquid is better..

Cool, thanks for the reply. Nice to know that as it reaffirms how i've been using Rogaine the last several years. I'd say my hair only gets to about 2 inches at the longest, if I get too busy for a haircut.

My head is shaved down to a 1 guard, I put Rogaine on right after washing my hair, I towel dry it until I can no longer feel it is wet at all. I am seeing good results at 7 1/2 weeks. I don't think it matters if your hair is wet or dry, what matters more is to make sure your scalp is getting the majority of the rogaine, rather than your hair. This is no problem for me since my head is shaved.

oh one more thing, I was told that with wet hair, you get more absorption of Rogaine which means if you apply too much, it will be likely that you get unwanted sides (?) ...so don't be greedy!!! (I may be wrong here! so feel free to correct me!!)

That's interesting..So I guess I can stop worrying about sweating then. Becuase in Vietnam if you're not in AC or breaking the sound barrier naked,..than your continually sweating from head to toe,.but that won't effect Rogaine apparently.

Don't mean to revive an old thread, but there is also some concerns I've read of the damp/wet wair causing the minoxidil to absorb too quickly and cause side effects when applied right after washing. Anyone seem to know more about this or can link threads? I use up & up brand minoxidil and the directions don't say anything about refraining from use on damp hair if I recall correctly.
