While I was probably getting some maintenance benefits and now wish I hadn't stopped, years I decided the only way to stop totally obsessing over my hair was to give up minoxidil, finasteride, etc and pick up a razor instead.
As soon as my hairloss started just over 10 years ago my eyebrows immediately thinned considerably. They also don't continue towards my nose quite as far as they used to.
Afraid of them getting any worse I researched using minoxidil on them and the various other brow growth serums. I found it was pretty much untested. It worked for some for the few people that reported trying it, not for others. And those some people seemed to have quite rapid results compared with others, the general consensus was that since eyebrow hairs grow and are replaced so slowly, it will take a long time to see effects.
I've been doing this for about a year now and its hard to tell if its been positive.
In addition to thinning when my hairloss started, my eyebrowns "narrowed" in that the top third just pretty much disappeared. Since starting the minoxidil/brow serum I have gained some very fine hairs in that area. It really can only be seen in a bathroom mirror in good light but they're there. A few have thickened up but that's it.
Same thing near where my eyebrows meet. Some very very fine hairs include in unwanted placed (can't control where the minoxidil effects THAT precisely) like the middle between the brows. But the hairs are so fine at this point its not noticable and if it gets to be I'll just have to have them plucked. At least that means progress even if it presents a problem to deal with.
On the negative side, the treatment may have causes some shedding and may have further increased the length of the hairs which, like pretty much everything else, have gotten longer since the hairloss started.
So there's my update for anyone that cares.
My issue now is I can't seem to find minoxidil with no propylene glycol. Dr. Lee has just left when I purchased my last bottle from mixinoxidil max and now it seems they're gone too.
I do have rogaine form and have used it on my scalp intermittently - probably getting no benefit. I don't want to try to put this on my brows directly.
Would it be possible to spray it into another container, have it liquify and use that? If so any idea how long it might be stable?
