Rogaine + finasteride, Rogaine only needed temporarily?

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before. I am new here and couldn't find it by searching.

I have been using finasteride for about a year and it has stopped my hair loss, if I add Rogaine and it grows new hair - do I need to continue with Rogaine forever, or will the new hair stay by continuing to stop hair loss using finasteride?

Thanks!

I can't tell you with 100% certainty, but according to my experience, it is always the first treatment that determines, how you keep your hair. If you add minoxidil and then quit, you will almost certainly experience a dramatic shed. However, the shed hairs should regrow back after some time. I don't know, if you lose even the regrown hair, but it is quite likely that most of it will disappear.

This is only a theory, but in my opinion, it is the most likely scenario. In any case, using minoxidil only for a certain period of time is not reasonable. Once you start to use it, you should use it until the end of your life. There is no substitution for it. But with finasteride, once daily use is certainly sufficient, so it won't be so annoying. I have been on topicals for 16,5 years and it became a part of my everyday's life :)

Alternatively, you can try adding some dutasteride to your regime.
