ok, bought some Finast from UP and have been in touch with the technical co-ordinator here in the UK about the pills legitimacy, here is my reply from my message.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello *****, I have been forwarded your email concerning 'finast'. The pharmaceutical you are refering to is finasteride which Dr Reddy's supplies to the European market as a blue oval tablet. However, we do also supply it to other markets eg. Asia and India where it is made as a white tablet and i suspect it is from one of these countries that your pack has come from though the only one I know of has F on it not finasteride, however, there are many variations depending on strength. If you wish to send me the strength, batch number and expiry date I could check with our manufacturing site in India to make sure DR produced it. If you have access to a digital camera and can photograph the packet that too would be helpful. Regards, *******

I have sent the information in and now await results, as you can see she believes the tabs have just an F on while mine have finasteride printed across, the information has been sent and I will get clarification of the results soon, which I will then update.

I got a batch of finast from united pharmacies, and they also have "finasteride" on them. Hopefully the batch will be counterfeit, for the simple reason that I might be more responsive to finasteride, after all. :woot:

Now I buy from a local pharmacy.

I have just started buying from local pharm too, if you're in the UK, Pfizer have launched a generic version of the 5mg pill, works out cheaper than Proscar.

Still waiting for a reply from DR REDDYS, will update.

I've been buying Duprost (generic Avodart) from unitedpharmacies.co.uk since last autumn and not had any issues with it; working just the same as GSK Avodart.

i know that when i first was going to start my regimine i ordered from UP and then read a BUNCH of horror stories about that place, so i canceled my order and then oredered with inhousepharmacy. i think if we can get a definite answer on whether there has been conterfeit pills coming from UP it will make some users happy, and they might have results after all that they didnt recieve with the counterfeit pills. best of luck in the investigation.

Hi guys, I ordered a bunch of Finax pills (Dr Reddys) from UP a while ago.

I can't speak for the effect that they're having on my hair as I'm using them in conjunction with a lot of other stuff, but I can say that they certainly gave the usual finasteride side effects when I took them at the 1mg dose. Take this how you wish.

It may be worth noting that I'm getting regrowth too, but as I said, I'm using a lot of stuff at the moment.

Edit: My pills have the "F" printed on them, and are tiny and white.

I used to use UP for finasteride and several other drugs and they were all completely legitimate.

OK guys, the result.

Hello *****, I can confirm that batch A81230 is one of Dr Reddy's batches of finasteride. However, since it isn't supplied for the european market I can't comment further on it. There are other doses available which you could discuss with your GP. I hope this offers some reassurance. Thanks for your interest in Dr Reddy's, regards, *********

A friend of mine bought flo-nase from them. It worked. And it is a prescription drug.

Indian generics are so cheap because they don't pay any royalties to Merk. Merk had to pay for the expensive FDA trial, and charges more for Propecia to try and recoup those costs. Had they told me when I was NW2 that they can't claim in does not work in front because it was not tested there, I'd be loyal and buy Propecia. Since they said it only works in back, and I went to NW4a before getting on, I have no loyalty to Merk, and buy it royalty free overseas.

I was on Doctor Prescribed Propecia for 2 years. I saw a little bit of regrowth. My brother did not get on in time, and lost tons of hair in that time period. Then I switched to 1/4 Fincar from Inhousepharmacy and UnitedPharmacies. I have been on that for the last 5 years, and to this day have seen no loss in hair. I even have hair grafts in front to mark the spot. There is no gap growing between the hair and the grafts. According to the FDA trial, if my Fincar is fake, I should have lost everything I gained or saved, and more since then. So I think the stuff is real. I pay $7 per month, no insurance.
