Hi all -

just wanted an opinion on using both revivogen and spironolactone...

More recently I've been using
Revivogen - 1ml morning and night
Tricomin - 10 mins after revivo morning and night
15% minoxidil - further 10mins after morning only
5% minoxidil - night only after revivo and tricomin.

before I had spironolactone instead of revivogen and for a brief period
(1 week) I had both - but as this routine is getting a bit hexy I'm wondering if I even need spironolactone considering revivogens DHT blocking..

Opinions are welcomed.... oh and BTW had to drop propecia due to bad sides.

Currently shedding like nothing else and frontal hair is becoming SUPER thin.

cheers

revivogen and spironolactone work by two different methods. spironolactone blocks the androgen receptor. Revivogen blocks 5ar, and might have some chemicals that can turn testosterone into estrogen, though I don't know if they are concentrated enough.

How long were you on propecia? If you were on for over 6 months, then a shed afterwards is expected. Revivogen does what propecia does, but to a much weaker extent. All your topicals only work where they are applied, so the rest of your head still continues at full speed.

RU is probably stronger than propecia. It works by blocking the androgen receptor to give almost castration effects where applied. But it is expensive. If you use 3mL of 3% once a day, you will need 2.7 grams a month. So 10g which is $300 would last you only 4 months. You have to mix it up yourself. And shipping is $90 per shipment. Eating borage seed oil, fish oil, and grapeseed extract and green tea with soy and apple poly and curcumin could help your hair a lot, and actually slow the balding process. It would be easy since they are internals. But I don't know if they would be strong enough. You can put some of the capsules in your minoxidil too.

I think you can make your spironolactone much stronger than lee's if you make your own. Or just add octyl salicylate and DMSO to your cream. That will increase absorption.

Also, finasteride works topically in a 25% water, 50% ethanol, 25% propylene glycol vehicle. But everclear 190 proof and use it to extract finasteride out of ground up fincar tablets. A 0.5% solution will do. Add the solution without the filler to 5% minoxidil, 50-50, or buy your own propylene glycol at http://www.chemistrystore.com for $30 for a gallon, free shipping. Add 5mL of octyl salicylate to 50mL of solution. That increase finasteride absorption by 10x. Add some dutasteride if you want. Add DMSO 2mL for extra kick. That is very cheap and may work as well or better than the internal finasteride. Buy pine oil for $5 for 4oz. Add 2 mL of that to the mix. It has a chemical in it that will convert testosterone in your scalp to estrogen.

You don't have to loose your hair just because you can't take topicals. But unless you put 3mL all over your future male pattern baldness area, those hairs you miss will be at risk.

further to this guys -

do you think potentially I could drop revivogen and most everything else and then just apply minoxidil with crushed propecia tablets instead to try and cheapen this routine up a bit?

Any help is appreictade greatly

Thanks College...
sorry added a question after you posted (wow what a post BTW thanks again for the advice)

I was on finasteride for about 3-4 months.
Hair stopped from falling out even when washing it but didn't seem to be getting any thicker. I was just happy with it not falling out anymore.
I also slowed with my minoxidil treatments to only once a day for a period of about 4 weeks.
Now I'm not only receeding but seem to be diffuse thinning everywhere as well (my individuals hairs are getting very fine too).
finasteride sides were sore swolen nipples that have since not reduced in size and if I put on any weight on resemble b**ch tits), liquid like sperm, depression etc, etc the works basically!

as per my question above - can I just crush a proscar pill and add it to my minoxidil and then fridge it?- or - is it advisable to start mixing my own chems like you've suggested? (Just so you're aware I can hardly follow the recipe to boil an egg right, so I'd have buckleys of getting the above correct.)

thanks a heap for any help

1750 I'm using both myself. I originally started Revivogen and then added spironolactone later on. I think that they are both good dht inhibitors although not as strong as oral finasteride can be. Ive been using Revivogen conservatively (using more than 2 ml) over my whole scalp for 2 1/2 months and it has reduced my shedding but with very little regrowth even though Im also using growth stimulants. Its also very hard to apply Dr. Lee spironolactone lotion on your scalp if you still have a full head of hair and I'm currently looking into a 5% liquid alternative. Like CCS mentioned, the main drawback is that as much as you try; you won't get your whole scalp and there will always be hair follicles that will be attacked by dht which is why I'm considering giving finasteride a try. CCS, wouldnt it be better to make topical dustas rather than topical finasteride and would you know a good formula for making topical dutas and mixing it with minoxidil ?

screw it - I'm now single again and getting a bit desperate......

I've ordered avodart and I'll see if this crap has no side effects.......

Will post my progress.

ccs - if I do suffer sides again what's the best way to stick this into my minoxidil? just pop the capsule?
If I have to do some form of extraction work I'll more than likely screw it up and set my head on fire :)

Thanks guys
