Revivogen/spironolactone combination

I know that some people on these boards have had some success with this combination

Could they tell me what regime they are following i.e. how often they apply each topical, how much they apply, and whether they are using 2% or 5% spironolactone?

I am currently using 1ml of revivogen at night, and am thinking of adding 1ml of 2% spironolactone in the morning

I'm not sure if people are using spironolactone at night as well (twice a day)

Thanks

I've been on spironolactone 2% for almost 10 months - and a combo of spironolactone and rev for almost 7 months.

I just started finasteride - so I'm phasing out the spironolactone - and will ultimately also phase out the rev - but I still have 2 full bottles and will use them up.

You're supposed to apply the spironolactone 2% 2x per day.

You can get by w/ 1 ml+ of rev 1x per day.

By far, spironolactone 2% was the coolest of all my topicals in that it dried quickly and didn't muck up my hair. I could really apply it anytime during the day and no-one was the wiser.

I feel like I gave spironolactone it's fair shot shot though. After 10 months I was looking for some regrowth - but didn't attain any. It did help slow / stop my hairloss however - and helped w/ maintenance.

Hopefully you'll have better luck w/ it than me.

Do you know if you can get away with applying the 5% spironolactone just once a day?

Thanks

The 5% is rather hard to apply. I can imagine it would take awhile to apply it, you could always use 5% at night and 3% during the day

How's the odor with the 2%?

I don't know if you've tried the 5% and could compare it to that, but did you have any issues with the odor? -- I've noticed that as long as I get the 5% mostly on my scalp and not in my hair, there doesn't seem to be that much of a smell.

Hello - no, never tried the 5%. Before I ordered spironolactone I asked Dr. Lee if I could could by w/ the 2% liquid as I didn't want to apply a cream (the 5%).

His response was that the 2% was much easier to apply and "about as effective" as the 5%.

The 2% does not have an odor on its own. The only smell you notice is that initial hit of alcohol (similar to minoxidil) once you first apply it. But it dries quickly and there's no after smell.

However - where a lot of peole run into problems is adding minoxidil right away. The combination of sprio 2% and minoxidil can cause a skunky odor.

The trick here is to wait at least 10 minutes after applying the spironolactone and before applying minoxidil - then there's no problems w/ odors.
