Retin-A Burn

My first package from dr. Lee arrived yesterday, with the potions needed to bring my treatments to the next level and return my temples to their proper position (closer to my eyebrows than the top of my head : )

The 5% minoxidil was excellent, dried quicky, and in general was a great improvement over the greasy mess that is Rogaine. I can actually apply it and then go out in public : )

At night I put on a mega-treatment that, while costing a rediculous amount, seemed to promise maximal results. 5% rogaine with 0.25% retin-a spray on top, then 12.5% rogaine lotion with azailic acid at the hairline. As I went to sleep I knew it was working (due to the slight warm tingle at my hairline). I woke with a similar warm tingle, and after a shower looked in the mirror could see drip lines from my scalp down over my left eye to my left cheek (pink, not raised, not itchey or painful) looking almost like a birthmark and marking the path liquid would take as it ran (multiple tracks). This faded over 30 minutes, but gave me quite a scare ( as it would have been hard to explain). My cover story was to have been an allergic reaction to a "new shampoo." But, it went away. I waited for the mark to re-appear during a long hot baseball game as retin-a may cause sun sensitivity, but this didnt happen (possibly due to sunscreen and a baseball cap).

Plan B is now to only use the minoxidil/xanadrox topically and save the 12.5% lotion and retin-A for a later more cautious attempt. I may be too pale (lots of white people in my family) to use retin-A without harm. I guess T-sal shampoo is an alternative with a theoretically similar action (exfoliation).

yeah - I'd put the minoxidil w/ retin-a away until the autumn. you definitly don't want to use that stuff if you're going to be out in the sun. Maybe just another application of Lee's 5% at bedtime, or even an all-over application of the 12.5%, instead of just at the temples?
