interesting, but there is a difference between having a receeder, which i wouldn't care about, and a diffuse thinning look that just looks ridiculous (what i am starting to get).

You can have a receeding hairline and have really thick hair.. but if you are receeding and diffuse...then you can run in to problems.

The dreaded diffuse recession...I know a guy that has this type of male pattern baldness which is quite aggressive. He insists on styling his hair in the same way though and when I look at him I always think it looks like he has 'ghost hair'.

Yep, and now summer's here we've got brilliant sunlight to contend with. I'd forgotten how much of the front of my scalp (particularly on the right) shows up in a shop window's reflection when the sun's streaming down.

It took me way too long to accept the fact that I was thinning and couldnt pull of my 80's long bangs hairstyle (which I have had since the 80's, coincidentally). Getting a shorter buzz-cut this year was the best thing Ive done... Much less fuss, and doesn't highlight the thinning as longer hair does.
