Hi All,
I have, in the past few days, started using Regaine Foam 5% purchased in the UK from Boots.
I am also using nizoral Shampoo 2% (it seems the 1% version is hard to buy in the UK).
Various questions about Regaine and minoxidil:
- Directions state apply twice a day but wait at least 12 hours between applications. How strict should one be about this?
- I read that minoxidil has a 22 hour half life and therefore should be applied at least once every 22 hours. Is this true?
- Is there a danger of applying in a period less than 12 hours?
- I squirt little bits of the foam directly onto my scalp as squirting into my hands then trying to apply didn't work for me. Not enough got through the (little) hair I have and it melted in my hands. This should be ok right?
- It states apply no more than the volume of half a cap. This isn't that much, I'm probably applying a bit more, is this a problem?
- Side effects; aside from those mentioned on the product, I've read of some nasty sounding side effects; swelling face, ear ringing, heart problems. These sound pretty bad, how at risk am I?
- The product states don't use over the age of 49 (I'm in my early 30s). Why is that? Is it a health risk? or simply it doesn't work?
- What can I expect on Regaine? I've read some people get results then lose them over time (without Propecia). Is this generally what happens?
Thank you
