My story is sort of typical, so I'm going to list the essentials for your convenience:

- Male, 28 years old
- Started seeing hairs everywhere 13 months ago, when I was a Norwood 1.
- Today my right temple is a Norwood 3, left temple is Norwood 2, + diffused thinning all over the top.
- I finally decided to try Propecia after hoping the hairloss would just stop for 1 year. I waited long due to the fear of side effects.
- Two weeks after starting Propecia, my glans (tip of the penis) started to go soft. I can still get erections, but the helmet-looking part is all squishy. It doesn't inflate or look shiny like it used to.

My question to you guys is; has this happened to any of you? Do you have any advice on what to do? I might have to try the minoxidil-only route, but don't know where to get any. Does anybody have a good suggestion on where I can find a reliable brand (that's not the expensive Rogaine brand)?

Thanks for all your help.

Hmm... thanks for the advice, Captain. I just chalked it off to the finasteride, since I figured it was a side effect. But you're right, I'll look into making a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning.

I doubt it's an STD, since I haven't been with anyone since March (and this happened in Sept). For now I'll stop the finasteride, just to be safe until I hear the doctor's advice. It can't hurt to stop for a week or two after only being on it for two weeks.

If anybody else thinks they've had a soft-tip problem as a side effect from finasteride, please let me know. Like I said, I still get erections, but just the head is soft.
