As that a majority if not all of the stress of hair loss is on appearance, I've tackled other things to improve my own appearance and honestly, you can end up being way more handsome and attractive than someone with a full head of hair when you are impeccable polished. Here's what I've done and what I recommend.

Muscle
I've increased 15 inch arms to 17 inches and upped all other limits on lifting. I'd recommend increasing the size of your chest, arms, and shoulders for immediate gratification. It makes you more statuesque.

Skin Quality
New trends are for guys to care about skin care. Surprisingly to me, it actually makes a huge difference. You can use a few products and your skin looks great after a few weeks of doing it. I recommend Anthony products or ZIHR.

Teeth
Brighten your teeth. A wicked smile and a raised eyebrow can get a girl in your bed faster than four long island ice teas. It's all about confidence. I recommend going for BriteSmile. It takes one hour and it literally gives you a sparkling white smile.

Body Hair
Dependent on genetics, (yes damn genetics again), your body hair might not be the most groomed. Two options. Either trim it yourself and do that consistently, because you never know when you are going to be naked banging a girl against a vending machine. Second option, which I did, is get it lasered off. Honestly shop around. I found a woman at a spa who did my entire front for 250 dollars. That's an insane deal. If you can flirt your way through things, you'll probably get a better deal.

Clothes
Doesn't matter what your style is, hone it. Make it perfect. Have the right outfit for every damn occasion that throws itself at you. Can't go wrong with blazers, pressed shirts, Lacoste polos, Maui Jim sunglasses, and an impressive array of footwear.

Lastly, Attitude
It's the most important guys. Christian on Nip/Tuck said it best.

"Girls don't care if you have a 2 inch pecker, a hairy ***, or balls the size of cranberries. What they care about is that you know what you're doing. "

That said, go bust some balls, get it together, and rock some skirts.

This is a good post - I was actually thinking about writing something like this myself but you beat me to it. The whole hair loss thing stinks, and I will TRY to control it, however, I have begun to work on things about my appearance that I know I can control. Doing this keeps things in a much more positive light.

The big thing I would like to highlight is the attitude. We hear it all the time that "I'm going bald and my confidence is going with it". Or "I can't get women now that I'm bald, but I had much more success when I had hair". Yes, I realize that in general women might find hair more attractive, but does anybody else see the correlation here? I see the chain of events being more like:

I'm going bald -> I feel like a loser -> women aren't interested in me

as opposed to

I'm going bald -> women aren't interested in me -> I feel like a loser

There is a big difference here and remember if you have no confidence, and you hate yourself (forget about the hair loss for a minute), would you honestly be attracted to someone like that? Attitude is big component of attractiveness...

I must say I am going through a shity time at the moment. It's all down to the fact that I have not had time or it's been difficult to do any swimming over the last few months. It's starting to show. I just don't feel right. When I was in top shape I felt fantastic and it showed across to everyone.

Tonight is my first swim for a couple of months and then it will start, then I will hit the gym and then i will feel on top of the f*****g world.

Just in time for summer...... God I can't wait to feel like that again. This f*****g post has inpsired me.

Good post, but I'd like to add one thing that you can work on.

Career/Success/Money. At least in my life, I look at my career and money making ability as the main thing that will save me and let me declare hair independence.
