"Millions of men are still suffering the after effects of the recession - in the form of hair loss, it has been revealed.

The turmoil and anxiety of the biggest economic slowdown in modern history has left a large percentage of the male population with less hair than they had three years ago.

The phenomenon emerged in the wake of pictures showing premier David Cameron with a newly-developed barren patch on his crown less than three months after he secured power.

And now it's claimed there's been an 89 percent jump in the number of men seeking treatment for hair loss in the UK since the start of the recession.

"Stress is a common cause of men losing their hair. A combination of the stressful recession and professionals fiercely fighting for their careers has most definitely contributed to the sudden boom in premature balding."

More people seeking treatment does not mean more people are going bald if that's what the article is implying.

Well, they are implying that.

Actually I entered the work force a few months before the global recession started. Haven't hit me a little bit. Have gotten consistent raises, and even with the fact that I work as a freelancer the only free time I have got has been national holidays.

Coincidentally my hair loss started around that time. Yes, I'm more stressed than ever, working life is not as easy as a student life, but I don't think it has been that stressful, besides, I don't believe there is a real connection between stress and male pattern baldness.

My guess is that the media reporting hair loss treatments has had an impact on the increase. And maybe that the newer, skilled in computers generations are starting to go bald, and they are more prone to find treatments than previous generations.

Hair loss is caused by stress which can cause strands to fall out three times more quickly than usual, causing pigment cells to wear out more rapidly.

HA HA HA HA who the f*** wrote this horseshit?

Oh wait, look a LINK AT THE BOTTOM! I don't suppose it's trying to peddle some quack cure?

LA Science has developed Follicle Stimulating Shampoo and Anti Hair Loss Serum - two exceptionally effective, clinically proven anti hair loss treatments specifically designed to stimulate and promote optimal hair growth.
Containing... Copper Peptides. Which, AFAIK, have not been clinically proven.
Yours for only £25 a bottle.

Here's another quote to make you feel better about your balding scalp....
For men, hair has long been associated with youth, virility and strength.
Better go buy our product.

Oh and on a serious note, Cameron's going bald? Where are the pictures?

Yeah its all bollocks, I cant believe people are still falling for the old stress = m.p.b theory, thats right up there with the old bloodflow theory.
I've seen the cameron story in the papers too. Obviously any man in his mid 40's who gets a small spot of thinning on his crown, it must be stress right? Because every NW1 obviously has an easy life I guess?

God, I hate this stuff.

"Maybe I´m not really going bald, maybe my diet has tricked my genes into believe I´m going bald!"

"I´m not really losing my hair, it´s my lack of physical training/my exessive physical training/the way I´m doing my work outs, that affects my hair, coincidentally mimicing Androgenetic Alopecia"

"My hair loss isn´t related to genes or adrogens, but to something exclusive and equally elusive hormonal malfunction on an extremely subtle level, for which only an equally elusive combination of herbal nonsense and hormone treatment will help. I did this to myself by eating a hamburger 10 years ago, now I know it!"

"Maybe I´m going bald because I think balding thoughts. I will now try to think hairy thoughts, and everything will be back to normal"

"I am losing my hair, but simply rubbing my fingernails/quitting masturbation/rubbing onion juice into my scalp/buying a new pillow will solve everything."

Get on the big 3, or go bald.
that´s how it works.
