Received an Excellent Piece (no missing hairs, no damage out the gate, proper 6inch length) - But Its 8X10. What are my options?

It is a .06 poly piece so it's robust.

I don't think I want to let it go, despite it's being a stock 8x10, which is too large for me.

I don't want to try cutting it. I'm ok with lace, hitting the base with my scissors without dipping into the hair, but I don't want to try razor cutting this poly piece.

My question is this: I like the concept of having an 8x10, in theory.

I like just buzzing my hair - which is gray and curly - and having all uninform hair, in color, in density, in wave pattern, etc.

Because I look RIDICULOUS with long hair, can I get this cut into a semi short cut, or would it look too wig-like?

Well where'd ya get it? :D
Do tell, .06 poly in 8x10 is what I use, but I can't find a good one rn

I wouldn't buzz cut a v-loop piece. With injected, you can pretty safely buzz it down to about 3/4" before it starts to get challenging to work with.

I cut my v-loop pieces pretty dang short though, I would say the main length is about an inch and a quarter on top, shorter behind the 'crown', around 2 and a quarter inches at the longest point in the very front, and 3/4" or even a bit less around the perimeter (it would look bad if the whole thing was that short though). Very simple, short brush back style with curls.

Trimming a skin base is way easier than trimming lace. You can trace your template onto it with a sharpie, then just make small perforations with an exacto knife along the line. itI actually like doing em, it's kinda fun. Happy to walk you through it.

It's from Lord Hair. I was sick of getting sh*t sent to me and they're doing tons and tons of promotional material so I decided to try again.

I got the 8x10 with no base or hair cut so as to be in a position to return it in the event it was a total joke, but it's full & good.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean buzz all the hair.

I meant I shave my head (with clippers) down to the max, then put this 8x10 on. It's big for me, but not overtly so. I've worn 7x9 stock and it was much closer to my real dimensions.

It's something between a topper and a full-cap, I guess?

No, I wanted to keep this longish, and just continue shaving my head with clippers, so it looks like an undercut.

My question is, will this undercut look all bizarre because this piece isn't cut to my bald stop (aka is too big)?

I know my cut is a bit restricted in ways using this method, but I want something longish anyway, and I'm excited to have this no-fuss thicker-than-UTS piece...

I see. For what you want to do, I think the base should be trimmed to the size of the longer top section of an undercut, not your bald spot, if that makes sense. Would it look weird if you don't trim the base? Assuming getting it bonded down flat is not a problem with the curvature. Well... My template is around 6 x 10 and is slightly wider than my bald spot. (I designed it that way because I used to have an ombre color on top, and I didn't want to keep bleaching and coloring my growing hair to match the tip color. So I made the template the size of the top section of my haircut, and just stuck with it since.) If I add an inch of width on each side... It's somewhere in between an undercut and a mushroom cut. And it sounds like you have a smaller head than me, so possibly would be closer to mushroom territory.

Ughh, the .06 poly piece i got from Lordhair last year was the all time worst. I actually threw it in the garbage after styling it. Is it possible they've improved?

The hair quality isn't very good. It's a lemon I think in that regard because the hair came dry. It tangles very easily, which, of course, is not the norm for a brand new piece.
