hi my hair is receeding in the temples and it started when i was 24, i'm now 27, i tried rogaine for one year and a half and nothing, i did develop and grow some hairs but it didn;t make much difference. at most i think i lost some hair dues to the alcohol in the rogaine.

i am thinking of taking propecia. why it grow back the hair i have lost. anyone here used it before. i am thinking of taking the generic propeica as it its cheaper. hehe. how is propecia work compared to rogaine. i comb my hair to the side as it looks like i'm not thinning. i have hair in the crown just hte temples are recedding, i do have tiny baby hairs in the receeded area, but even when i apply rogaine, it doesn;t even make it grow back .

here is some of my pics

Alcohol in Rogaine won't make your hair fall out. The hair folicle is relatively tough and it takes your own immune system to really kill it good. It sounds like you don't respond to minoxidil well in which case others will usually suggest the remaining two of the big three (finasteride, nizoral shampoo). Also, think about Revivogen and other topicals thought to block/inhibit DHT in the scalp. The only topicals I bother with currently are Minoxidil with added b-6, saw palmetto, beta sitosterol (http://www.qdbd.com/hair_loss_treatment_super_zix_2.htm), spironolactone solution/cream, Revivogen - maybe a copper peptide like Tricomin or Folligen.
