Hairline recession may stabilize sometime, but this do not imply that other effects - like overall or localized density loss- wont take place. Hairline recession may even start again after stabilization. To answer your question one must make a life-long follow-up of several balding subjects pertaining to several patterns within the gradient of ways one can bald.

Usually the older you start balding the more likely it is to stop before NW4.

How quick is yours receding? Mine is pretty slow. Mine is only the very front of my fore lock. Its actually still the same spot as my original hairline just much thinner.

My older brothers hairline receded about 10 years ago and seems to have stopped. He's not on treatment.
