Receding hairline?

Hey guys, I can't really tell if my hairline is thinning or what. I know for a fact my forehead always looked pretty big to me, and the shape of my face doesn't really help. Also I have a lot of cowlicks in my hair that makes it look like I have bald spots. I notice it a lot more in harsh lights, I've never paid any attention to my head until lately.
I've always been told I had really thick hair, so I was never really worried about it until now. I don't know my dad so I have no idea what his side of the family is like for hair loss. It eats away at me a bit thinking about it sometimes, so I figured I'd finally ask and get your guys opinion.
I'm fairly sure I've always had high temples, but I've never had short hair since I was 8 years old, and I don't have any pictures to compare the last few years, I'm 20 now.

Yeah man I think you are, but you are the best judge. If your hesitant about starting treatments, take pictures every 3 months, and see if you can spot any differences. finasteride isn't as bad as a lot of people claim.

Alright thanks, I've pretty much never looked at my hairline before so I have no idea what it looked like, but I do know the shape of my head kind of adds to the look of it. I am pretty scared of taking anything because of the fact I have read way more horror stories about it than positive ones.
