Receding Hairline With 22. Should I Get On Finasteride

This is my first post. I am 22 years old. I always had V shaped hair, but i think that my hairline is receding drastically recently. I think i am on a norwood 2 to 3 by now which is pretty high for my age. I would appreciate to know how bad my hairline already has gone and what results i can expect with finasteride and minoxidil. I will post some pictures for you. My crown hasn't receded at all yet.

thanks for the reply. my father was a Norwood 7 when he hit 40 i think. everyone from my mothers side still has full hair. what are my chances to recover back to a Norwood 2 if i get on finasteride soon?

It is tough to say since everyone is different(I know that is a shitty answer haha), but I do think you have a great chance at maintaining if you start finasteride and hopefully some new treatment comes out in the next decade to save us lol.

Norwood 2 in my opinion. Looks similar to Ashton Kutcher’s hair when he was young. He got on dutasteride and now years later, his hair looks as good as ever . I’d keep that in mind if you value your hair.

Die Ärzte in Deutschland verschreiben selten das Finasteride für den Haarausfall und wenn sie es machen würden, werden die nur 1mg verschreiben und eine Packung davon 90 st kostet ca 110 Euro also du musst unbedingt 5mg suchen und die Tabletten in 4 Stück abschneiden

Ich probier am Montag die 5 mg Variante verschrieben zu bekommen. Hast du Erfahrungen damit gemacht? Soll ich zu nem normalen Arzt oder direkt einen Termin beim Dermatologen machen. Mein Hausarzt ist eigentlich relativ locker

Geh einfach zu deinem Hausarzt aber du musst erst den Arzt davon überzeugen, Das 5mg Finasteride zu verschreiben weil das 1mg verdammt teuer ist
Ich hab ja Erfahrungen gemacht und jetzt verwende ich finasteride seit etwa 5 Monaten und Ich überlege mir gerade Dutasteride einzunehmen.

In 3 years around 2021 breezula will be releasing which can replace finasteride. Your fighting for time, and to preserve hair even at risk of sides until something safer comes out. Hopefully breezula is actually released and finasteride will be thing of the past. Only a few years left. Its unlikely starting propecia today you will be on it even in 5 years and there are studies showing men on it for 10, and some men have been on it 15 or 20 at this point.
its definitely safe for this period of time we have real world proof.

The problem is getting a prescription for finasteride here in germany from my understanding

Yeah but wouldnt a doctor be hesitant to prescripe the 5 mg version because it is normaly used for prostate enlargement and using it for hair loss would be considered " off label use"? how did you convince your doctor

Avodart und Dutasterid sind das gleiche oder meinst du wie ich es bekomme?
Mein Freund ist ein Arzt und er darf es mit seinem Ausweis in der Apotheke kaufen.

Same and the ten year study finasterise always gives me pretty good hope to maintain and or at least close to it for the next 10 years or so and I don’t think we’ll have a cure in that time, but probably something different to help maintain for longer.
