Here my story, im a 23yr old male with male pattern baldness in the family on BOTH sides..my dad lost hair real quick from 23 and all my uncles on both sides were bald in their twenties...so as u can imagine im in trouble...

i hoped id amke my l8 twenties but heres what i've been noticing...the top of my head not quite the crown but just all over the top seems much thinner... i come out of the shower n see loads more of scalp..hairs all over my bed..on my clothes..and when i let my hair grow for like 2 months..the top does not seem on the same level as the sides n back....my hair is SOO much thinner on top these last few months.

I went to the advanced hair studio for a free trial..they told me about dht..said i was affected and said i needed 6 months of laser followed by these shampoos etc they have which seem to contain that mimidoxil stuff in rogaine..am i right??

Neway i didnt like their attitude over 5000 euro for all that and the whole thing felt like a sales pitch...was frightening seeing my hair blown up..and how little there was in parts...they show u on this screen..they also told me of some strand by strand technology...whats this like??

They slagged off all other treatments ..mentioning propecia and telling me id go impotent on it..

NEWAY

i went online and started to read around...and came across u gang and there really seems to be a wealth of knowledge here..most doctors i've asked say there is no cure..talk of kojak etc.

What is the beat way..i still have hair and am not visibly bald yet..i have time...can i slow the process down..my front is thinning too....The big 3 are a recurring prescription online....

whats the score with propecia?? does it only work on the crown??
how bad are the side effects??

i really dont want to go bald so young..if i can get another 10 years ill succumb to it...

a few posts talk of a synergetic effect of propecia and nizoral??

Any help would be appreciated...i know there are plenty of young men in theor twnties suffering from this..including friends...id love to be able to help them

Thank you
Rav

??no one willing to help

Well no1 seems to have any advice...so i will try focus my story..I am aware of the big three..talked about here.....

Firstly i am specifiaclly interested inthe side effects of propecia...the "man boobs"...erectile disfynction etc....i know its like 5% of men affected...in the study..but what do real users have to say?

what is this strand by strand talked about by advanced hair studio really like???

for maintenence of my hairline..and hair on top..is propecia and nizoral the best combo???

i am thinning at 23 and find it too young to accept...33 yea but not 23

here is my advice having read this site and others back to front - these seem to be the principals to stick with:

1) Decide what you are looking to acheive maintanence or maintanence and regrowth (DHT inhibitors and growth stimulants)

2) Start with the fewest possible treatments and see what works/does not work for you

3) Read the main HairLossTalk.com part of the site (lots of important information to assist you in putting together your own regimen)

4) Stick with treatments for at least a year before you evaluate them - this means you need to be confident that you will stick it out for the long haul

In the end you can only make a decision based on the information - no one can really tell you how to tackle the problem - I'll admit ive read alot about side effects of propecia which kept me away (meant to effect 2% of users I beleive) and my regimen consists primarily of Revivogen and spironolactone lotion for maintenance plus copper pepptides for regrowth. Also use nizoral shampoo. You can read about all these treatments on the main site and I can say that they have slowed my hairloss down alot - I was losing hair on the crown alot too - and have experienced some slight regrowth.

Best thing to do is keep reading reading and reading.

How you finding Revivogen - i'm finding it well messy with lumps of brown stuff on my scalp. I stopped using the Revivogen shampoo yesterday andwent back to the L'Oreal standard mens thickening shampoo. For the first time in 4 weeks I had hardly any shedding in the shower whilst washing my hair, whereas ever since I used the Rev shampoo my hair was just coming out my head in massive amounts.

lumps of brown stuff? from my experience the serum is quite greasy but never had that happen as its a liquid not solid. I replied to another one of your posts about my general experience of using revivogen - overall id say its helped minimise my hairloss over the last 9 months.

I reckon the brown stuff is where I haven't rubbed it in probably and after it dries it really sticks to your scalp - kinda looks like freckles. I've been trying to apply Revivogen over most of the top of my head and therefore it is hard to get it all rubbed in. Going to just apply it to areas where hairloss is most noticeable and I'll not have a problem getting it all rubbed in.

Thanks for your replies to my posts about Revivogen, guess i'm desperately seeking reassurances about it.

yes..i suppose you are right..i spoke to a doctor..a hair specialist in a private clinic here in ireland and am going to try propecia(well proscar broken down)...and nizoral 2%

as i am not bald we will see if this MAINTAINS my hair as that is what i want...he showed me very impressive results with the drug...that includes font of head..crown everywhere..it is not limited to the areas indicated on the trials..as this guys has hundreds of patients..but it seems it does respond best in those areas...he took photos ofmy hair..scalp..we will see if i maintain over the next six months he monitors u over 6 months...

he takes proscar himself to keep prostate cancer risk low...so hes quite a fan..has had no side affects....says he had one guy come back talkin of low labido but that he went back on the drug as his labido kept low...was due to stress not the drug..he was fine after a rest..

if i can maintain im happy..will keep u posted...would b great to reccomend this combo to young guys like meself!
