You've seen my other posts about plans and backing out of plans, and my results with using rogaine foam for 6 months.

Please examine these photos and assess my hair loss. I'm looking for confirmation on being a diffuse thinner, and what norwood scale I would be placed at.

My background is a finasteride user at the age of 18 - 25. Doing nothing for 2.5 years. Then using rogaine foam for 6 months with keto shampoo. Now starting a combination of Rogaine liquid and rogaine foam with keto.

Here are my photos:

All of these photos were taken today. I used different angels and different lighting to show what a difference it can make on how it looks.

Don't wait your time buying rogaine, waste of money.
Kirkland minoxidil.
Did you experience any side effects while on propecia those 2.5 years?

I actually took propecia for 7.5 years. Overall I was mentally astute, could get erections, physically fit, and absolutely no signs of gyno. I quit it 2.5 years ago so that I could give blood and to find out if all of that post finasteride syndrome had any truth to it. I remember waking up with a hard erection just two weeks off of the drug thinking, this is unusual. Then I realized that propecia actually did have an effect on my erections and the quality of them. I also feel a little bit quicker mentally, and more energenic mentally since quitting. While on the drug I think you just adapt to being who you are. It's not till quitting it after several years of taking that one notices is a difference. It isn't night and day. If hair is really important to you the drug is well tolerated and it will do wonders. I'm just at the point in my life where I'm ready to let go and be who I'm genetically supposed to be. I use kirkland minoxidil liquid and rogaine foam.

did propecia work then?
Did you get any regrowth during those 7.5 years?
or did it just halt your hair loss?

To tell the truth, after the scare mongering days, I'm just not comfortable taking a hormone altering drug anymore. Part of me wants to take it to show the results I can get while on it. I'm an excellent responder to the drug. But I don't want to go through with altering my hormones a second time ya know?

I think I will eventually join the proud bald forums when that time comes. At this point I'm only looking to slow down the hair loss so I don't wake up bald the next day. That's why I'm using rogaine and keto. I think that stuff does a good job of slowing down the losses.

When I was 18 I had a bald spot growing and thinning in my temples, it hadn't receded at that point but had thinned. I started on propecia right away without a second thought. It completely got rid of my bald spot, thickened up my thinned temples, and completely stopped any hairloss 100% The drug works.

I'm pretty sure I would be a norwood 5 or 6 by now if I had never taken the drug.

I don't get it though 2.5 years without using Propecia and you still have most of your hair while on finasteride????
Shouldn't you had experienced a massive shed during that time being off finasteride? how long you used minoxidil for?

Honestly I don't know what people talk about when they say they experienced a massive shed going off finasteride. A couple weeks after I quit finasteride I started noticing my head get itchy. I wasn't experiencing any hair loss until about 1.5 - 2 years off the drug. I think because I started finasteride so early and at a young age it actually had a long lasting effect on my even after quitting.

I've used minoxidil for 6 months now. I have another post showing a photo of the top of my head weekly for those six months. No noticeable changes.

I really did start finasteride very early. My hair loss was probably very slow and I had just noticed it and starting taking drugs for it right away.

Maybe it really did effect your body because you were so young, I guess that's one pro. Your body is wired in a certain way because of the drug.
Jesus you were young probably still going through puberty..
I would just stop taking minoxidil if it's not doing anything, 6 months is quite the time span for nothing to happen while being on it.

I believe rogaine has stopped or slowed down the progression of my hair loss. I have 6 months supply of it left. You would just quit it even if you had the supplies left?
