Quitting minoxidil after 2.5 weeks

Hello all, I'm 20 and have been taking finasteride for a full year now, happy with it so far - halted hairline recession, or at least slowed it down to a snail's pace.

Just over weeks ago however I stubbornly decided to start taking minoxidil to fill my the empty temples (norwood 2 maybe), before doing any research on whether it would actually have any effect. Obviously I found out that it doesn't regrow hair in completely hairless areas and furthermore isn't proven to work on the hairline/temples, so I would be doing nothing good and was only likely to get side effects. My mistake is... I also applied it on the entire hairline from left to right temple, twice a day.

Basically if I stop using it now cold turkey, will I get shedding? I've read some horror stories of people getting terrible hair shedding that never comes back after taking minoxidil for short periods of time and it scared me. I do plan on continuing finasteride 1mg everyday and keto shampoo.

Would appreciate any replies, thanks!

It's not enough time for minoxidil to have done much so you won't shed but if you were on it longer like for example 6 months then yeah you would shed.

because it is not proven / officialy tested in trails, does not mean it doesn't work. Search some user images. Some get a bit of regrowth and extra maintenence is always welcome. Just switch to applying it once a day. What sides are you worrying about?
