Hey guys, ive got loads of questions and not sure where to start. Here goes, im 23 now and have been losing hair for years. Ive always had a very high hairline and receeding hairline, which has gotten pretty bad now. Althoug, It could be just considered a mature hairline, as it was always very high anyway.

My father and uncles etc are basically nw7's, and im wondering is it possible to avoid the same fate? Lets pretend I was a nw4, would it be possible to go back to a nw2/1?

How would I go about getting medication as I live in Ireland? And im also already on medication for anxiety/depression, would this be an issue?

I shaved my head once before and everyone said it really suited me. It was a centimeter all over. A completely bald head should suit in that case....right? presuming you think bald heads can look good of coarse.
The problem with that is, im REALLY skinny. I dont know if im going to "fill out" or stay this way. But, its not as if I walk around in tank tops anyway lol. Surely if a shaved head suits you, a bald head would? I mean its the same type of "frame" for your face...

Meds and treatments should only help to slow/halt further loss. Any regrowth would be very minimal. A Norwood 4 cannot go back to a nw1or2. The only way back would be a hair transplant.
I'm afraid it likely that you will follow the same degree of hairloss as your father and uncles especialy if you already have noticible loss aged 23.
As for a shaved head there's only one way to find out if it suits you. (shave it!)

Actually, I think that's a very good chance that he won't go past NW5, ever, if he talks to his doctor about Avodart. I think NW6 tops and not until much later in life.

You should do that haunted. It may give you some regrowth in front and in the crown as well. I would combine it with the new Rogaine foam and use Nizoral shampoo twice a week. You shouldn't be any worse off in 5 years than you are now, and you will probably be better off.

Hi guys. You know, im very tempted to just shave it all off now, but, the thing that is stopping me is, if it dosnt suit me or just looks crap then thats it....no hope! The one thing ive had in the back of my mind during all this hairloss is that maybe it will suit me.....
If I find out now that it dosnt....then what? Wont be much point letting it grow back if its just gonna look really thin and....well.....like im balding

I wonder have I left it too long already to do anything about it? If I started meds, is it certain that id maintain what I have? And what are transplants like these days? The pics ive seen look crap, they look obvious and instead of looking bald they look like they are going bald!! seems pointless!

What do you expect perfect hair? I'd take looking like your in the early stages of m.p.b over being bald anyday.

then what's an nw1? godlike? nw1 is full head of hair with no recession. nw2 is a mature hairline. 96% of caucasians go to nw2 before they die.

i gave you my opinions earlier in the thread, don't be so ungrateful haha. im just saying that technically nw1 is perfect but nw2 is what most non-balding guys end up with.

I wasnt being ungreatful. I appreciate everyones help.
I just want to know what can one do if he finds out that the bald look doesnt suit him at all and its either too late or he dosnt have the money for the treatments?
Accepting baldness is something I wish I could do but cant

Fortunately treating male pattern baldness is VERY cheap.

I think I average about $40 per month. Probably a little less actually..

oh, that is cheap! Although I may at somepoint (if I decide to fight this baldness), want to get some hair transplant done to cover what Ive already lost. I think its been gone too long in certain areas to grow back now.

I agree with this completly anyone who is nw2 should consider themselves lucky. In my opinion nw1 is a young person's (below 23yrs) hairline. I never had a nw1 my forehead was always high and curved.

I was born a IIIA and would be a IVA right now if not for my hair transplant.

Hi guys, ive decided that im going to start the fight against this sh1t! Starting after christmas. But im overwhelmed by info on this site and dont know where to start!
Im probably a n3 or an n2.5 at the moment and I want to keep what I have and grow some more if possible. I cant really tell if ive lost any at the vertex but if I have it is a very small amount. Unfortunatly, ive no way to put pics or anything on my computer.
What meds do I need to take and how do I get them? Ive gone to my doctor once before and he seemed to know nothing about hairloss medication. I live in Ireland, maybe we are a bit behind here.....?
Cant stop obsessing about my bleedin hair lol
any help greatly appreciated

there is no friggin way that you were born a 3A. A 3A implies some recession. no one is born with 3A recession. maybe you had a very high hairline as a baby but you still were not a IIIA. balding doesn't start until puberty.

Ok, so propecia and rogain seem to come highly reccomended. Should I start on propecia alone or both? What would you do? Id like to regain my temples if possible and just try and maintain it all basically.
Do you think that this will help considering that most of my uncles etc are nw7's?
