questions for Canadians

I live in Ontario and I've got a couple of questions for my fellow Canadians:

Have any of you seen a dermatologist for your hair loss? And if you have, is it covered by OHIP or is it "private" health care that you have to pay for?

Secondly, have any of you ever been tested for allergies (I think I'm allergic to an ingredient common to several topical hair loss products)? Where do I get that done? Dermatologist, "regular" doctor, or is there some sort of special "allergy tester" out there? And is that paid for by OHIP?

I've been asking around and checking the internet, but both these things seem to be in a "grey" area as far as availability and OHIP go.

Thanks.

Why not just go see your family doctor or a walk in doctor? I'm sure they will be able to answer your questions accurately.

Personally I see my family doctor for my hairloss precriptions. My visits to the doctor are of course free. The precriptions are not free because they are not "medically necessary". I've heard of some people getting it covered by health care. I'm pretty sure its up to the doctor whether or not they cover it.
