Questions about initial signs of hair loss

Hi everybody, I made a thread on here earlier about worrying about teenage hair loss. I don't believe I'm losing hair now, but I would like to know if these are some signs that I should look out for when detecting hair loss. It seems that coming across these forums was not good for my self esteem, as I'm constantly worried about hair loss now...

1. Is easily parted hair a sign of thinning? I've noticed that if I slightly part my hair anywhere on the top of my head, it stays parted, and I can see a semi part line covered by hairs.

2. Does no shedding mean that you are not balding? I'm exceptionally paranoid about this. I'm not shedding, and vigorous pulling on hairs does not cause any of them to fall out. I'm just wondering.

Thanks for anybody who decides to read this and help out :)

On question 2, you can still bald without shedding. My hair got thinner and hairline receded for years without it noticeably falling out. It wasn't until late in the process that lots of hair began appearing on my pillow. It's best to take photos so you can see over a period of months what is happening. Looking in the mirror everyday you won't really notice it.

You should be able to tell if you are losing your hair. For me the recession was obvious, then I noticed I could no longer style my hair the way I used to. If you are unsure if you are balding, that is a good thing.
