Firstly, i'd like to say how helpful this site has been. I've really gained a lot from posts on this forum, so thanks.

I have made the decision to start finasteride and i'm now awaiting Propecia 1mg through the post.
My question is: would it be wise to begin by splitting the tablets in half and having 0.5mg a day for the first few months and seeing how it goes, then moving upto to 1mg? Or should i just begin with 1mg? I am 23 years old.

Also, in terms of the terrifying Gyno side effect, i have read that this can be resolved when you stop taking finasteride? Is this true or will you need surgery? This terrifies me.

Any feedback would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks

I generally like the idea of slowly ramping-up your dose when you begin taking finasteride, just as you should always slowly taper-off if you decide to quit later.
