question regarding straightening or dyeing your thin hair

Just wondering if chemically straightening your hair is ok if your suffering from hairloss.

My hair is pretty thin but seems to look alot better when its a bit longer and straightened so thinking about getting it chemically straightening.

Also if you've got thin hair at the front what would make it look better (besides shaving it) - dyeing it darker or lighter?
