Question on the hair cycle.

Is the telogen follicle somehow "aware" of the presence of the hair shaft?

In other words, is it the detachment of the keratinized bulb that triggers the next anagen phase?

What happens when an anagen hair is pulled out by mechanical stress? Does the follicle enter a premature tellogen phase?

Are you gay?

i would say it does enter the tellogen phase prematurely. when i pluck a certain pesky hair on my arm, it's back in a much shorter period of time than it would have been had it waited for the previous hair to fall out on its own.
