I have a general question for ya'll in regards to the age male pattern baldness kicks in,

Firstly you hear alot of stories on this forum of people losing hair in there early 20's which makes sense because they have gone through puberty, becomin manlier etc. while DHT levels and testosterone are increasing

But how do people just suddenly start thinning in there 30's and 50's etc. e.g both my unlces. Thick dark hair till about mid 50's . Then Whamo! balding badly

Is it really sloooooow progression of thinning that finally becomes noticeable

- Another question i am unclear on

My dad started receding at 20 and at about 30 he reached a Norwood 3 and from about 30-50 he did'nt lose any hair.
How the hell does that happen?
He sais he never touched any meds either, not even sure if they had any back then

I am almost 30 and started noticing thinning at age 23 but it was a very slow progress for me. i took dutas and used minoxidil for maybe one year then gave up on them and - surprise - i didn't go bald for the next five years. only thinning a little more. now i am somewhere between NW2 to NW3. the progress speed differs between different people - but noticing hair thinning in early 20's does not mean you're going to be bald by age 30.

Its just genetic coding. Why do some people stay at NW1, some only go to NW3 level while some advance to NW7.
Why do some people get grey hairs at 20 while others at 70?
Why do some people stop growing at 5' while others grow to 6', its just how our genetics are set, everything from the colour of your eyes to the shape of your nose is set from birth and we dont yet understand how or why this works its like a computer programme. We have very limited abilities to try and control some aspects through the use of drugs ect but in the longterm we're basicly slaves to our own genetic code.
