Question for you guys about celeb photos

Would you guys like a sub form just to post pics and discuss celebrities and their hair?

Personally I used to be annoyed by such posts but I now see their value in terms of being able to reference conditions, styles and treatments because personally I think the Norwood scale is fairly useless.

In one way it makes sense as there are a lot of those threads so why not put them in one place.

BUT just gave this some thought and the major downside is it could attract people who just want to gossip about celebs.

E.g. if your average joe does a Google search and finds a 'celebrities with hairloss forum' they might sign up just to post trash about celebs. Those people may be very unsympathetic to hairloss and not post in the spirit of this forum. I don't think any of us really want HairLossTalk.com to turn into some online gossip mag :/

Excellent point and a valid concern.

I would handle that problem if it arises but I will need everyone's help. Just mark sure you use the report post feature. This idea is not for a mean spirited forum.

Keep in mind we could always switch it back.

I am not 100% sure I want to do this but I was just thinking of ways to make this forum more useful for everyone. All of the annoyances of celebrity gossip aside, it is a very good reference point for everyone since most users will recognize someone and their pics over a time.

Also I do want to make it clear it would be public figures in general. Politicians for instance.

Why not do the following: do not create a new subforum, let users post threads on public figures, make a sticky, and in that sticky post a link to each celebrities thread, alphabetized by name. Introduce a rule that only one thread per celebrity.

You could always add the thread container to the .norobots file to stop external search engines indexing them.

I think it's fine as it is, howabout just ONE stickied thread entitled 'celebrity hairloss' for people to post in.
I don't think any changes should be made that would encourage people to post up celebrity pics any more than they do so...Ok the majority of celebs are loaded but they still suffer from this as much as we do.

We can't even get people to make proper titles in "tell your story"

If I didn't edit them daily it would be nothing but titles that basically said

"Hi, new to the forum with questions"
"new user...and confused"
"AM I BLADING?!?!"
"new to the forum with pics"
"just registered to ask quesitons"
"just signed up and new...am I too LATE!?"
"hi new here....HELP!"
"nOObs life is OVER"
"f*ck!"
