Question for minoxidil pros....Liquid to Foam switching

Would it be conflicting and or unwise to switch from the foam to liquid every couple of month? I like the application process of the foam, but the price is too high. I am thinking about getting a bottle every 3 months or so and using liquid in the off time.

I figure, Minoxidil is Minoxidil, so what's the worry? Is that okay or is it better to be consistent?
