Question for current and past rogaine users

Quick history: Started balding about 10 years ago, did nothing about it then decided to take propecia about 2 years later. No real sides with it and it maintained what I had but after about 6 years of use, I kind of got worried about long term effects and decided to take the all-natural approach (flax, green tea, nettles, vitamins, etc...) Well, that was a mistake and I started to noticably thin in the front. Not wanting to go back to propecia, I used revivogen for about 4 1/2 months and I shed like crazy. My hair was clearly see through and my scalp was tight and flaky.

It's been about 7 weeks since I quit Revivogen and started using the Big3.

Today, my hair has filled in slightly- meaning the thinning is not as blatant as it was 2 months ago. I'm pretty sure of this since I just got a haircut today.

Anyway, I shed for about the first 5 weeks but it has slowed down quite a bit since then.

Question 1: I have a lot of vellus hairs intermixed with terminal hairs at the hairline since starting the rogaine treatment, is this normal? will some of the vellus hairs turn terminal?

Question 2: Have people had actual success in the frontal region? how long did it take?

Thanks in advance,

btw my current regimen is:

proscar cut into 1/4th's (1.25 mg) got a prescription and cost about $80 at the local pharmacy for 30 pills
rogaine foam 2X daily
nizoral shampoo 2-3X a week, i use an organic shampoo without sls called desert essence otherwise
just started taking biosil

question one) yes its normal and only time will tell, maybe add a copper peptide to help kick em into gear

question 2)people have had success but i cant really recall too many that have however im currently at a crossroads because i once had lots of new blonde vellus temple hair and i think they have shed so it could go either way

Thanks for the answer libertine. I actually perused the site and saw that the Big3 have been working well for you.

I really think Revivogen is bs. I shed like crazy and it made my scalp really tight and flaky. Ever since I've stopped, my scalp is in much better condition, and what I feel to be a more optimal environment for hair health/growth. Anyway, that's my two cents.
