i am finding that if i skip a day and only apply a small amount then i can significantly lower the amount of irratation caused from revivogen. I know that they market that eventually u are able to do this, but what do you guys think? i've been using it for over 2 months now. thanks

Hey Jimmy!

First off, 1.5ml is about 3x more than you need, even for a single application. It depends on how large of an area you are applying it to, but you only need to get a very thin film onto the skin.

Revivogen has a peculiar "soaking in" action. When I apply it directly to my hairline, about 3 hours later I can see a "glistening" where its presence seems to have expanded to a good half inch below my hairline. Ye ole' oliness.

Point being? Drag the dropper around and massage it in with your fingertips to spread around the area you're reaching more. You can save some doses this way.

Secondly, how often you use it depends in large part on what else is in your regimen. Most people seem to get pretty bad irritation if they apply it twice a day. I know I do.

You are on Finasteride, although only 0.5mg. I do suggest going to the full 1mg, in which case you pretty much would not need Revivogen at all. If this isn't an option for you because of intolerable side effects, then I really think 0.5mg finasteride and once a day application of Revivogen should be enough.

Im really sold on the 1mg dose though because when I dropped to 0.5mg, I lost all my gains obtained on 1mg. So that dose did make a difference for me. And of course we don't have proof that Revivogen works, just lots of supporting data, so ... id err on the side of safety and up to 1mg finasteride.

But the general rule, to answer your question, is that you can drop to 1 Revivogen dose per day if you're on another supporting treatment. Im using Topical spironolactone with it, so I think once a day is enough.

FWIW, I found that when I started using T-Gel 1% coal tar shampoo, at least twice a week, along with Nizoral, my scalp irritation caused by Revivogen went way down. Maybe I'm finally getting used to the Revivogen, I don't know, but I'm really sold on the coal tar shampoos to calm irritation.

well, i forgot to change my profile...i'm actually down to .3 mgs of propecia and .75mls of revivogen every other day. i just wanted to know if u think that what the people at revivogen are saying about eventually using it only a few times a week is valid?

I thought they changed that theory that eventually you could taper down the # of applications?? I think they say now that you should use it everyday to maintain any results from revivogen. Correct me if I'm wrong. HairLossTalk.com?????
