From what i've gathered seb. derm. is essentially -- or theoretically -- an over production of yeast in the body. What I don't understand, and what i'm hoping someone here can shed light on, is why medications taken orally to reduce yeast wouldnt help alleviate the symptoms of seb. derm.

Medications such as Diflucan, despite having potentially severe side effects, have been helpful in reducing yeast and yeast infections in woman, although i've only read one account of someone sucessfully using it for seb. derm. Anyone have any thoughts on why drugs taken orally to inhibit yeast production are not more common -- even over-the-counter medications. I guess my whole thing is I can't understand why reducing the amount of yeast production in the body would not positively affect seb. derm. Any non-derogatory comments would be great. Thanks.
