there was one thing i was always curious. do topical dht inhibitors like topical spironolactone, azelic acid, etc... get rid of some of teh dht that has already collected in the follicle (in other words, "cleanse" the follicle), or does it just inhibit any further attachment of any dht?

DHT inhibitors do not actually touch DHT. They compete along side the hormone for the receptor sites that it binds to. So I guess the answer to your question is no. :) It prevents further damage from DHT. Provided that they even work at all, of course.
