When I was in my late teens I noticed my hairline recede. It was temple recession and it went beyond a "mature hairline", if I had to classify it I would say a norwood 2.5-3. I went to a dermatologist and he looked at my hair, told me I would never be bald but that my hairline recession was more than you would expect for someone my age and then prescribed me propecia. I took it for a while and then stopped when I didnt notice a change and felt the risk of side effect wasnt worth it. I am about to turn 27 and my hairline is the same as far as I can tell. I am just wondering if this means anything for my long term prognosis. Am I more likely to lose the rest of my hair because I started receding so early? Am I less likely since I have been pretty stable for around 8 years? My family history is a mixed bag, so its hard to get any meaningful answers there.
