I have just started finasteride a couple of days ago. I do have one question. I see people online saying it took from 6 months-1year to notice a difference. By this, do they mean re-growth, or when their hair stopped receding. What in trying to say is until this 6 month - 1 year mark, can your hair continue to recede? Thanks.

For me personally, my shedding increased for the first 3 months (I was shedding small hairs mainly , idk why) , after 3 months my shedding decreased ALOT , as for my hairline I feel like it receded a TINT bit during this time but this could have been because I stopped minoxidil right before I started finasteride (I was only applying it around my hairline) . Other than that I feel my hair looks healthier 7 months into finasteride

I've been on finasteride 1 mg for 6 months and was on .25 mg/day for two months prior to the full dose (8 months total). Here's what I have noticed:
1) Definitely no decrease in hair loss since starting. Way worse now than at baseline.
2) Possible acceleration of hair loss but cannot be sure how fast it would be happening without finasteride
3) Obviously, based on the first two there is no regrowth :(

I don't want to stop finasteride yet in the off chance that something good will happen in the next few months. However, 8 months ago I could pass for a full head whereas now people can notice despite my best efforts to conceal. Big change for the worse

I’m going through a huge shed at the moment as well, three months in and I’ve lost 50% of my density. Our luck will turn eventually let’s not lose hope lad

Just drop the sh*t.

You don’t know the long term effects that sh*t could have on you. It’s really not that huge of a deal if you’re going to go bald it’s kind of expected.

Trust me we’ll all be good don’t risk your future possibilities in vanity.
