Question about finasteride and the expiration date

So, if you haven't seen my other posts, I've noticed recently that my hairline is starting to thin out more and more. I'd been on .5mg finasteride for almost 3 years, with good success. My first thought was that the effectiveness was starting to wear down, so I responded by getting 5mg pills and quarting them, so 1.25mg a day. This was around the 1st of June.

Today I found an empty blister pack of the 1mg finasteride pills that had fallen behind the toilet when I threw it away. I happened to look at the back, and it said that the expiration date on the pills was December 2011. So, I was basically taking expired finasteride for 5 months.

My question is this: Could that be the reason behind the increased thinning at the hairline? I've noticed less and less hair in the tub hair-catch, so I'm thinking that this might be it.

If the expiration date is December 2011 then it hasn't expired yet.

The short answer is "NO" because as you said the the expiration date on the pills is December 2011, and it still has 5 months before it expires, it is only July, 2011 now!!!

Do you have more and more hair in the tub hair-catch? If you have less and less hair in the tub hair-catch, it means you are losing less hair?

Err....total typo that makes me look like an idiot.

It was actually December 2010

I got proscar and have been quartering it, and the hair in the tub-catch has probably reduced by 50-60% now.
