Question about DHT inhibitors

From what i've learnt so far, DHT inhibitors , androgen blockers and so on, are basically meant for maintainance, the main purpose being "keeping what you already have". However, many people on this forum have also new hair growing, thickening both in the temple and back area, regrowth all over( together with the maintaining part)...by just using a DHT inhibitor and no other growth stimulant ( like Minoxidil).

SO my question is : is there some other ingredient in pills like Propecia, Proscar, Fincar, Finpecia, etc that stimulates regrowth or is the DHT inhibition itself supposed to get you new, thicker hair?
