Question about dependencies

I'm in my mid 20's and aside from a receding hairline I have noticed my hair thinning out. I'd be happy just maintaining what I have now, and am considering topical treatments like revivogen and/or the spironolactone cream (along with nizoral), but still doing more reading/research. I'm wondering if I start using one of these treatments and then at some point stop, will I be worse off and end up losing everything faster because I became dependent on the treatments, or does it not work like that?

bump (my apologies if this is a question with an obvious answer but I wasn't sure)

No it doesnt work like that. The basic science behind it, is that either these drugs are lowering the serum DHT, or these drugs are in competition for the receptors. If you stop, then the DHT will simply be able to start binding to the follicules again.......almost like where it left off.

However a drug like "rogain" minoxidil doesnt do anything for Halting, or slowing it down. This drug is more of a dialator and just stimulates the hair. So this drug is best use in combination of other treatments because it stimulates the hair as the other drugs combat the problem at the core. If you used "rogain" as a stand alone product for along time and stop, THEN you will see an accelerated loss.

Alot of these guys on this board have used finasteride, and no significant side effects. Some of these guys even got off to try dutasteride. This board would recommend taking a partial dose to start and see what happens from their.

I personally use spironolactone, and I don't always get to use it everyday, sometimes im just too busy. Maby thats a good thing, and im also planning on starting the most potent antiandrogen of all, RU 58841. Good luck in your regime.
