it's a matter of perspective. an NW1 will look flat when you're staring at it head on, but from a bird's eye view with the hair pulled back, yes, there are two small "recessions" - but the important thing is, these aren't recessions caused by DHT, that is the natural 'wave' shape of the hairline. very, very rarely is anything in nature 100% straight.

If you crinkle your brow, you'll find that it rises up further on the sides than in the middle. since your juvenile hairline follows the line of this ridge, you can see where it's coming from.

when they talk about NW2 recessions, they're talking about moving back from this 'wave' shape.
