Anyone use this stuff?

Does it stink? ( Has spironolactone mixed with Minoxidil )

How do you buy it ( Cant find it anywhere ).

Anyone use it that can compare it to RU?

Just been brought into use. Only a slight, not unpleasant smell. Best applied when hair damp - say, just after a shower then towelled.

Bought from Dr Proctor's site (just search). Quite expensive and I believe Bryan (an experienced poster) uses (or has used) it. Supposed to be very good as besides minoxidil and spironolactone has other goodies. Only needs using once per day and apparently it 'spreads' so you do not have to cover all the area. I ordered 5 28 day containers and they said I had to keep the ones not in use in the fridge.

http://www.drproctor.com, under products. It is $100 for a 25mL vial of cream, or you can ask for 60mL of liquid, which is weaker. you need a prescription, but your propecia prescription is enough, or you can buy one from dr proctor, I think.

Found my receipt. I ordered 4 but was given 5 and a free nano. Only took 7 or 8 days to be delivered to the UK from the original order date. Just for information, there was a brown liquid in the box and wrapping. I contacted DrP and they said that can happen with pressure problems on flights.

You lucky scoundrel!

Why do I hear so many reports of Dr P being so generous and giving people extra stuff? I even asked him about trying to cut costs, and he's never "thrown in" a NANO or anything before!

Anyway, I use the stuff. It is the absolute easiest topical to use - just smear it over your thinning areas. At first I thought it was very hard, but when applied to a damp scalp it's so easy. However i've grown body hair on it - probably the minoxidil or something being absorbed

Applying it to a dry scalp would fix this, but it's too difficult and would waste so much.

Hi,

Since it has minoxidil inside....the hairs that grow will fall if you switch to something such as spironolactone ?

Did you see any thinning areas fill in like in the hairline?

and how would that compare to spironolactone?

btw do they require a prescription for Canada too ?

Thanks so much!

I don't know, but I'd say so. There's so much more in proxiphen than spironolactone, so likely it would be another ingredient that worked to grow your hair, not the spironolactone, and thus stopping this would result in losing your results

I've been using it on my hairline, and little hairs are sprouting up. However I really need to compare photos to see if I've thickened or thinned. My hunch is i've thickened, but ill need to see for sure.

Proxiphen you mean? FAR better. It has over 14 ingredients apparently. Only 1 is spironolactone - the antiandrogen. Proxiphen has 4 main different kinds of growth stimulants that I know of - NANO growth stimulants, minoxidil, phenytoin and powerful SODs like tembo and PBN. There's probably more in there as well.

I don't know for sure, but I'd say they wouldn't. They didn't need one for Australia :)

Not a problem my man, good luck. I really like the stuff, but I'd strongly urge you to look at the price tag. That being said I use less than half the recommended dose, so you could make it cheaper.

Felk:

I got the spironolactone bottle which is 4oz from DR LEE.
I am just applying minimal amounts on the temples only...and I have more then 1/4 left....

and I started spironolactone Late May....

How long you think Proxiphen will last in that case maybe 2 months?
cuz i converted 25ml of cream is under 1 oz
At this point I dont care for the price really...got a really high line of credit (hehehe)
Just want something that really works already...

And whats the recommended dose so I can use only half of it?

Thanks again! :)
You guys are really helpful....

From the literature:

Apply 1/10 teaspoon (a dab on the end of your finger) to teh bearest areas. The medication does not need to be applied everywhere. Work into the hairline." Also, it says use the vial in four weeks. Other things said:

The Retin- A may cause increased sun sensitivity.

Probably see nothing before 2-4 months with visible difference by 3 - 6 months, and stedy progress out to a year or two, often longer. At some point you may experience a loss of some of the hair gained. This often grows back. New hair comes in the reverse order of loss, about 3 - 6 months per year of loss.

If you enter treatment with a lot of loss-phase hair, you may continue to thin for several months until the excess loss phase hair is gone.

Sometimes we see incerased loss and excess hair loss phase hair in a person who is going bald very rapidly. This is particularly common in persons in their early twenties just beginning to bald - we hardly ever see it after age 35. Such a person may take a while to respond to treatment, but, since teh loss is so recent, often does well eventually.
