Can the more learned people on here help me out with the difference between the two? Does one work better than the other?

Proscar is a 5mg dose of finasteride used to treat an enlarged prostate.

Propecia is a 1mg dose of finasteride used to treat male pattern baldness.

The only difference is the dosage. Some guys have their doctors write prescriptions for the 5mg pill and split these in 4-5 pieces which is more cost effective than paying the outrageous Propecia prices.

i was cutting the 5mg proscar tablets into 4, i had to stop after about 10 months due to bad side effects.

is it worth trying propecia or am i right in thinking there just the same? i mean, will i get the same side effects again because i definately dont want those again?

i just cut my proscar into 7pieces. 1 pill last me for 1 week. propecia is just a way for merck to milk your money. use propecia for 1 year plus before switching to proscar and there is no different that i can tell.

just imagine the money i could save if i know better earlier.
